Adults

A lot of people dream romantically of playing the piano it seems - thinking of their friends singing along to old favourites while they tinkle along on the ivories or playing hymns in church, or even just of playing a particular song they love listening to. But they often discount the idea, saying it's something you need to have learned as a child.

While it's true that it helps to have had some training as a child, it certainly isn't impossible to learn as an adult. However, it really doesn't happen overnight. You will need patience, motivation and time to practice every day (or at least a few times a week).

If you are a beginner, you will learn the basics first of all, starting off with simple tunes and the fundamentals of music theory. How quickly you progress is directly linked to how much you practice at home. And I don't mind adapting your favourite music to something you can learn easily if it helps keep you motivated.

If you had lessons as a child and would like to get back into it we can just refresh your memory a bit and take up where you left off.
